Begin a New Life
Please join us, and experience a new program of spiritual growth developed for the New Church and the broader public. It is a universal, faith-based approach to life change that is based on the NC steps of repentance, and which offers an experience of change that is powerful, effective, and lasting.
Please Give Us Feedback on the Strategic Plan
We have been hard at work on developing a strategic plan based on all the work done during the Appreciative Inquiry process. Please give us feedback. You can find it and give feedback online at www.brynathynchurch.org/programs/strategic-initiatives. Or you can pick up a more detailed paper copy of the strategic plan at the Pastor's office or the cathedral. You can give written feedback via email (erikjbuss@gmail.com) too. Please make sure that we have your thoughts. We want this to be our plan, something that everyone can embrace.

New Church Outreach Survey
Hello All! I have been working on this survey of New church young people leading up to the Outreach Training event, Impact 365. I would love it if you could send this out to anyone in your congregation or anyone you know who is connected to the New Church and is between 18 and 35 years old. If you don't have email addresses, just posting it on Facebook would be great! I am hoping to get minimum of 200 responses so I need help getting this out there. It is only 10 questions and it is completely anonymous. Feel free to look at it and ask me any questions. New Church Outreach Survey Rachel Buss, Intern at the Office of Outreach
March 12 Update from the Pastor Selection Committee
We are currently working on a clearly stated list of qualities that we think are is important for our head pastor. Please continue to contact the committee members to help refine the list, or email your thoughts to Pastorchoice2013@gmail.com.
Society Meeting February 27
A meeting was held at 7:30 on Wednesday February 27 in Heilman Hall to elect a committee of twenty members that will council the Bishop in the selection of a new pastor. That committee will work with Bishop Keith, possibly adding members to achieve greater representation of all groups in the society.
Bishop Keith will meet with the committee for as long as it takes to decide on an appropriate recommendation, which they will put before the society for a vote. The primary role of the committee is to recommend a new Pastor. Depending on how that process goes they may also recommend a new Assistant Pastor.
The following were elected to the committee (due to a tie, there are 21 committee members):
Jim Adams, Barbara Doering, Hyland Johns, Rob Andrews, Burt Friesen, Dain Kistner, Reed Asplundh, Kyle Genzlinger, Cathy A. McQueen, Nicole Bau-Madsen, Hayley Gunther, Ronald Nelson, Debbie Cook, Greg Henderson, Terry Schnarr, Bradley Cranch, Laurie Horan, Rich Show, Nina Dewees, Drew Hyatt, Dale Zecher.

Pastor Selection Process
Click the title for a letter from Pastor Jeremy Simons to the Bryn Athyn Church. Here is an excerpt: When I became pastor in 2004 I said that I hoped for a term of about ten years. Since that time is almost up, I had planned to send a letter to the society this February to begin the process of selecting a new pastor, electing a committee to counsel the Bishop on the selection at our Annual meeting in April and voting on their choice at the Semiannual meeting in September, with the new pastor taking office in July 2014. With the selection of the Rev. Pete Buss as the new Assistant to the Bishop, however, it is clear that it would be advantageous for us to move that process up slightly and complete the process this spring, with the new pastor most likely taking office this July, 2013.
Marriage Conference - February 16-17
The Marriage Conference is February 16 and 17, 2013 The theme is "In This Together" as we gather to work on marriages in our community. Please consider inviting a friend as marriage is a common goal for many of us. Registration is live on the www.caringformarriage.org website, and are available in paper form at the Bryn Athyn Church Pastor's office. There are many thoughtful workshops to choose from, and the presenters are a blessing to all of us as they try to prepare. Meals are available on a meal by meal basis, including delicious dinners served at the Lord's New Church on Saturday and Cairnwood on Sunday. Where else can you have a dinner with live entertainment and raffle prizes for $20 and $22 a person? Enjoy the company of friends old and new as you join together in a celebration of marriage. There are specific workshops for students and single people as well as ones that are just for fun. Lori and John Odhner 215-840-9279
Bryn Athyn Community Project Teams
After an extensive process involving community input from many people, fourteen project teams formed to bring some of the aspirations into reality. Most of these are being incorporated in the Bryn Athyn Church's strategic planning process, though some fall outside the purview of the church. Read more about these projects; we'd love for you to find one you'd like to participate in.
