Two quick interview stories and some hopes for the future:
One woman recounted how she offered to perform a skit at a marriage conference to give back to the community. At the conference logistical/technical issues caused some tension but performing the skit eased the tensions and positively affected the conference as a whole. She was pleased to raise people spirits through theater and it was just the right thing at the right time for the conference. One of her images of the future is “a community where all different worship services are equally valued as precious and wonderful.”
Another interviewee related how, during a recent June 19th picnic, a spontaneous idea sprung up and spread through the picnic so that “the whole 1,500 people stood on the hill and sang to the King family – and to heaven” just days before Bishop King passed into the spiritual world. One of his images of the future is “analyze what it is we do so well with funerals and find a way to apply it to every day.”
A third interviewee hoped to have more ways to “weave generations together – to experience more people in different stages of their lives and sharing more.”
