Young Adults Vespers Service (during School Year) - known as the Sunday Night Thing

Sundays - 7:00pm, Bryn Athyn Cathedral Council Chamber (directions)

The Young Adult Vespers service (known as "The Sunday Night Thing") is an informal gathering on Sunday nights for high school students and young adults.

Our program starts at 7pm with small groups. At 8:15pm someone shares something from his or her spiritual life with the group for about 7 minutes. After that we have the vespers service. The vespers service involves singing contemporary worship songs led by a great little acoustic band, readings from the Bible and the Writings for the New Church, a short informal talk by a minister, and a time for silent and spoken prayer.

Afterwards we eat some tasty foods and hang out. You can come to the groups, or just the vespers, or both.

We meet in a room in the Bryn Athyn Cathedral called the "Council Chamber." If you don't know where that is ask the friendly person at the front desk and they'll tell you where to go.

If you've never come before visit our website (sundaynightthing.org) for more information and to listen to past vespers talks.

Our current series is "Feelings: What the heck? - Emotions and Spirituality." Each week we're talking about a different emotion - compassion, fear, anger, gratitude, etc. - and what it has to do with our spiritual lives. Can we control our feelings? What's the use of negative feelings? How do we get positive feelings?

The last Sunday Night Thing of this school year will be on May 17th.
